YSRCP a fake party: Jairam

Union Minister Jairam Ramesh today described the YSRCP as a fake Congress party. The people will not believe in YSRCP president and Kadapa MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy, who was behind bars before plunging in the poll arena.
Talking to mediapersons here on Saturday, Jairam accused Jagan of indulging in vilification campaign against the Congress leadership for gain in general elections. Absolutely, there is no chance for the YSRCP to wrest power, he said. Since Jagan came out on bail from jail and continuing his tirade against the Congress for Chief Minister post, Jairam said, the people will not make him Chief Minister despite his false promises and assurances.
The Union minister also lambasted former chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy for defying the high command and the Centre on Telangana statehood issue. Because of him both the Congress and Seemandhra region suffered huge loss, he said. Jairam said the Telangana statehood decision was taken only after all political parties except CPM, had given their consent. Even YSRCP, TDP and BJP extended support for Telangana and the Centre took a decision in its favor, he maintained.
The Union Minister slammed the Telugu Desam and BJP combine for making baseless allegations on the Congress and the Centre. Polavaram project got national status and its construction will be completed in the stipulated time frame, he said. This project will not stop under any circumstances whether any party comes to power in Telangana State, Jairam assured. The Centre will give 90 per cent of funds for completion of Polavaram project, he said. Jairam alleged that those who evaded taxes have left the Congress for other parties. (NSS)
