YSRCP Telangana working president Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy today announced that they were extending support to the TRS in the MLC elections under MLA quota to be conducted on June 1.
Ponguleti said, “As the YSRCP could not field and elect its own candidates in the elections, we have decided to support the ruling party in the elections. After a debate among party leaders at Lotus Pond head office, party chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy took a decision to extend support to the TRS. “With this, we will teach a lesson to the Telugu Desam party and the Congress, which have no values”, he stated.
The decision of the support comes in the wake of IT Minister KT Rama Rao calling up Jaganmohan Reddy, Srinivas Reddy clarified. He also recalled that the Telugu Desam did take support from other party to elect its member Sathish Reddy as vice-chairman. Being the leader of Opposition, TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu had offered support to the Kiran Kumar Reddy Government by issuing a whip to his party members, he recalled. Instead of wasting valuable votes and being a responsible political party, we have decided to extend support to the TRS”, Reddy remarked. (NSS)
