Hyderabad: A delegation of leaders of YSRCP led by Mr. Hafeez Khan met Mr. Amer Ali Khan, News Editor of Siasat Urdu Daily at Siasat office yesterday under instruction from the party Chief, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

It is reported that Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy had directed the local leaders of his party to meet Editor of Siasat Urdu Daily to extend support to the stand taken by Muslim Personal Law Board.

Mr. Amer Ali Khan told the delegation to convince their party to support the issues like Triple Talaq and Uniform Civil Code. Mr. Amer Ali Khan further told that this is not the first time that such attempts are being made. Earlier, such attempts have been foiled by secular forces and they had protected the freedom of religion and faith. He further told that the stand the Central Govt. has taken on these issues is not acceptable to Muslims. The issue of Uniform Civil Code is not only a matter of anxiety for Muslims but a large number of people of other religions also won’t accept it. The issue of Uniform Civil Code is against Islamic Shariat. Muslims cannot tolerate any interference in their personal laws.

A delegation consisted of Mr. Hafeez Khan, MLA, Mr. Shaik Siraj Basha, Mr. Syed Habeebullah Bukhari, Mr. Syed Waliullah Husaini, Mr. I.H. Farooqui and others.

Mr. Amer Ali Khan advised YSRCP leaders not to confine the issue of Uniform Civil Code to Muslims alone and get united for withdrawing it since it would create anarchy and deterioration of cultural values.
