YSRCP president YS Jaganmohan Reddy said today that the Government has no right to take away the assigned lands from the farmers, and the party will support all the farmers who lost their lands in pooling in the AP capital region, in fighting the injustice in the court.
Jaganmohan Reddy visited Uddandarayunipalem of Thullur Mandal in the capital region and held discussions with the farmers about the forcible acquisition of assigned lands by the government. Scores of farmers complained to Jagan that they were not willing to give the lands as they were enjoying the same since three generations, but the government was threatening them of serious consequences, to part with their lands or else they will be taken even without their consent and free of cost.
Farmers also informed him that assigned lands which were allotted to backward communities are being taken back. The Government was not even leaving the cremation grounds. One farmer said he was taken to the police station and was tortured for three days.
Reacting on these complaints, Jaganmohan Reddy said the chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu himself was behind all the atrocities being committed by the officials and an end will come to the government sooner than later. He assured the farmers that the party will always support the farmers who are deprived of their lands and fight in the court on their behalf. (NSS)
