YSR Worse Plunderer Than Mohd Ghazni & Ghori, Says Nara

Vijayawada, January 12: The Telugu Desam party chief, Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu, has described late chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy as a worse plunderer than Mohammed Ghazni and Mohammed Ghori, two notorious plunderers of India’s wealth.

Talking to the media here on Wednesday, the former chief minister said that the two invaders had plundered only gold and money, but late YSR had looted even the mineral wealth underneath the earth.

Charging Dr Reddy with illegally grabbing 7,500 acres of land under the Kolleru lake, Mr Naidu said that his son, Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy, was now shedding crocodile tears on the woes of the farmers forgetting that it was his father who plundered them. He also said that Mr Jagan should not undertake fast in New Delhi, but at the grave of his father who was the epitome of corruption.

Mr Naidu said that his party would fight until the lands of the farmers were returned to them. He also claimed that he (Naidu) came to the farmers to instill confidence in them and tell them that he was there to fight for them.

Stating that corruption rampant in the country was leading to more problems for the poor, Mr Naidu explained that it was corruption that was responsible for the poor to remain poor and the rich get richer. Alleging that late chief minister had doled away thousands of crores worth mineral wealth to the Karnataka minister, Mr Gali Janardhana Reddy, he said it was with this money, the minister was purchasing MPs and MLAs in the neighboring State.

Taking strong exception to Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy unveiling statues of his late father, he said that roads were not laid for erecting the statues.

Mr Naidu said that the Congress party had swallowed thousands of crores of rupees through 2-G Spectrum and Commonwealth games scams. He said the Congress was only interested in swallowing public money and had no intention to help the poor. He has claimed that it was only his party, the TDP, which served the poor. He assured that he would fight till justice was done to the fishermen of Kolleru. Alleging that 40 per cent of fishermen of the Kolleru area had migrated and were suffering after YSR launched ‘Operation Kolleru’, Mr Naidu told the farmers that he would go to the Supreme Court also to render justice to the fishermen of Kolleru. He also said that Kaikaluru would not get water because of the latest award of the Krishna water Tribunal.

Stating that the State would stand to lose because of the raising of the height of the Almatti dam, Mr Naidu said that when he was chief minister, he had successfully scuttled the attempts of the Karnataka government from raising the height of the dam. He also claimed that it was because of the TDP that the BCs attained political recognition.
