Hyderabad, July 25: The PCC official spokesperson, Dr M. Thulasi Reddy, has said that late chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy’s son-in-law, Brother Anil Kumar, was in no way connected with the Bayyaram mining issue.
Speaking to mediapersons at the CLP office here on Saturday, Dr Thulasi Reddy said that Anil Kumar, who was signatory in the agreement with APMDC was Mr J Anil Kumar while late YSR’s son-in-law’s name is M. Anil Kumar son of Mr Ramana Rao. Both were different, he added.
Dr Reddy said that there was no truth in the rumor doing rounds in the State that the government has taken action against the Bayyaram mining issue to take revenge against the Kadapa MP, Mr Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy. He also denied that the government had given land on lease to any company. But the government had only ordered survey of the area to know the status of the mineral wealth after the APMDC signed the Memorandum of Understanding with the Rakshana Consortium.
Dr Thulasi Reddy said that in 2001, the former chief minister, Mr N Chandrababu Naidu, had given permission to three tribals to mine in 63 acres. But every one was blaming the government showing the tribals’ mining at Bayyaram, he added.
