YSR Congressmen, Telangana activists clash

Karimnagar, July 4: YSR Congress functionaries clashed with Telangana activists after being thwarted from unfurling the party flag at Malyala mandal headquarters on Sunday. The programme was arranged to mark the launch of the party’s membership drive in the mandal.
When YSR Congress district convener M S Raj Thakur reached the venue, the TRS and BJP activists, along with the villagers, raising ‘Jai Telangana’ slogans, stopped YSR Congress functionaries from going ahead with the programme demanding that their party president YS Jaganmohan Reddy should make his stance on separate Telangana clear.
The activists of the pink and saffron parties alleged that Jagan Reddy was shedding crocodile tears for Telagnana. During the heated argument, Telangana activists tore the flags, flexi-banners of the YSR Congress and threw away chairs and tables arranged on the dais. They even brought down the flag pole by demolishing the basement.
Angered at this, the YSR Congress activists clashed with Telangana supporters.
The YSR Congress members, during party membership enrollment drive, faced a similar situation in Karimnagar town on Friday when a vegetable vendor refused to get enrolled in the party demanding that Jagan should come clean on T.
