YSR Cong opposes change in fee reimbursement pattern

The YSR Congress Party East Godavari Unit BC cell has expressed its strong opposition to the move of the state government to change the fee reimbursement pattern subjecting the students, especially those of backward classes, to hardships. Addressing a press conference here today, Mr Guttula Ramana, convenor of the district BC cell, has described the move as giving it a go by from the scheme introduced by the Late Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and nothing but government shirking its responsibility. Reimbursing the fee partly and asking the students to bear the hiked fee is detrimental to the interests of the poor people, he said adding it would adversely affect majority of the students who would be forced to discontinue the studies.

It is unfortunate that even the leader of opposition N Chandrababu Naidu, who is trying to woo the BC voters by his BCs, declaration, was conveniently maintaining silence, he alleged. It showed he was not sincere in his declaration and showing only lip sympathy towards BCs, he allged. ‘Already his actions proved that he was not at all interested in the BCs or else he could have given Rajya Sabha seat to Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, his ardent supporter’, he added.

Making it clear that the proposal of part reimbursement of fee is not at all acceptable to their party, Mr Ramana warned that they would launch a state wide agitation against the government enlisting the support of the BCs cutting across party lines, till the government rescinds its move. UNI
