YSR Cong activists held for planning vandalism

The Cyberabad police today arrested three YSR Congress party activists for hatching a plan of vanadalism in the state capital and outskirts if the CBI, which is grilling its President Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, arrested him in the disproportionate assets case.

Speaking to mediapersons here, Incharge Police Commissioner Rajiv Ratna said the accused had plotted to set APSRTC buses on fire if Mr Jagan was arrested. A large number of bottles filled with petrol were seized from their possession. He said the police are also investigating into their activities of sending Short Message Services (SMS) to various persons in this regard. Mr Ratan said the police have intensified patrolling and checking of vehicles and frisking of suspicious persons in the city.

Besides surveillance was also increased in the state capital and outskirts, he added.

The police caught the three activists of YSR Congress and foiled their plan to burn 100 APSRTC buses in Hyderabad and Cyberabad limits, he said. A Case was registered under section 120-B,436 R/w 511 and 34 IPC and 7 & 8 of criminal amendment ACt at Miyapur Police station, he said. UNI
