Hyderabad, April 15: Viveka is the real heir to YSR, IT is not proper for YS Jaganmohan Reddy to use YSR photo while campaigning in the by-elections since the late leader was a Congressman and the Congress can claim legacy to him, state Congress chief D Srinivas has said.
Talking with reporters at Gandhi Bhavan here today, he said the Congress party’s Pulivendula candidate YS Vivekananda Reddy was the real heir to the late Rajasekhara Reddy since the former had extended all kinds of support to the latter.
Referring to the Badvel MLA’s decision to jump from the Jagan camp into the Congress, Srinivas told reporters at Gandhi Bhavan here today that it was not correct to say that she was coming back into the party fold as she remained a Congress MLA. As for other party MLAs who were extending support to Jagan, the party leadership would take disciplinary action against them at an appropriate time, he said and added that discussions were held with the chief minister in this regard.
Union minister and in-charge of AP Congress affairs Ghulam Nabi Azad, the chief minister and himself would take part in the election campaigning in Kadapa. “There is nothing wrong if ministers take part in the campaigning,’’ he said and described as meaningless Jagan’s description of the electoral fight in Kadapa as one between YSR and Sonia Gandhi.
Srinivas made it clear that there were no differences of opinion between him and the chief minister.
