YFS has undertaken distribution of these kits to students in various schools spread across the city in the presence of Venkat Dusuri, Coordinator, Hyderabad Chapter along with Syam Prasad, president of YSF Hyderabad chapter and Sesha Aditya, Coordinator, YSF Hyderabad Chapter along with several donors and volunteers.
School Kits Distribution to underprivileged Children is one of the flag ship programs of YSF. The School Kit drive program aims at providing underprivileged children from the urban slums and rural areas across India receive new & quality education aid at the beginning of every year. YFS believes that a helping hand from the society will encourage the students in attaining education and arrest the school dropout rates.
Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Venkat Dusuri, Coordinator for YFS has said that through this initiative YFS aim to provide the school kits to as many needy students as possible. He revealed that in 2015, YFS has reached out to 18,000 students in providing the school kits. YFS Hyderabad has proactively worked to reach out to more number of students, especially in Nepal, Chhattisgarh and Orissa along with two telugu speaking states, he said. With every Passing Year YFS is increasing its foot print towards reaching out more and more beneficiaries by involving more corporate and more volunteer, he added.
In Hyderabad, YFS had two ways of packing the kits. Corporate Packing and Volunteer mobilized packing. In corporate Packing, The school kits were delivered directly to our partner companies and our volunteers helped the corporate volunteers in school kit assembling/packing. Examples: Wells Fargo, Agility, Thompson Reuters, AMS, Kantar Operations, Deloitte. In Volunteer Mobilized packing, YFS Hyderabad invited all their volunteers to gather at Vivekananda Degree College, Kukatpally and we had 600 volunteers who turned up at the location. Within 2 hours our 600 volunteers were able to pack thousands of School Kits.
YFS volunteers along with full time coordinators personally visited the Government schools in and around Hyderabad and distributed the school kits. In rural areas YFS Hyderabad also distributed Solar Lamps to the students. (NSS)
