Hyderabad, December 21: YS Jagan has met the union agriculture minister Sharad Pawar in New Delhi yesterday to discuss the plight of farmers in andhra pradesh.
Jagan had explained the suffering of the cycolne hit farmers and increase in the suicides unbearable to pay the loan amount.He said to the union minister that the condition of the farmers in the state is alrming and requested to give a better package to the farmers.Jagan also requested the minister to waive off the loan amount repayment.
Sharad pawar reacted positively to the demands by Jagan and promised him that he will do whatever possible to help the farmer in the state.
Later speaking to the media Jagan said that it is the duty of the state and central governments to act together in helping the farmers and agriculture.”It is really sad that the compensation for the previous cycone Laila did not reach the farmers totally and we urged the union ministes to take immediate steps for lending a helping hand” said Jagan.
Meanwhile, analysts say that this is the first step by jagan to a possible long term bonding that is in store with Sharad Pawar who too floated his own party in Maharastra against Congress.
Jagan was accompanied by MP’s Mekapati Rajamohana reddy,Sabbam Hari,Ex-ministers Konda Surekha,Balineni Srinivas reddy etc.
