The body of a youth aged around 25 was found in a local train in Thane railway station today, the railway police said.
Station house officer at the Thane Railway police station said that it was around 4.10 pm this evening that an
empty rake moved into platform number three of the station.
The local from Thane was bound for Ambernath.
As soon as the rake moved in from the yard at Kalwa, passengers waiting at the platform spotted the youth’s body
hanging by the handlebar of the bogie.
The railway police was called and upon investigation it transpired that the name of the youth was Asish Saigal.
The railway police has registered a case of accidental death and sent the body to the Thane Civil Hospital
for a post-mortem, the police said.
Meanwhile, the police suspect it to be a case of suicide. Further investigations are on.
