Jamshedpur: A body of a youth, who was beaten to death by unidentified persons allegedly over eve-teasing, was today recovered from a jungle near Rawtara village in Seraikela-Kharswan district, police said.
On being informed about the incident, a police team went to the spot and recovered the body, which was tied with a electric poll in the jungle, police said.
The killing was believed to have taken place over an eve-teasing incident, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (Chandil), Sandeep Bhagat said.
In the wake of the incident, Bhagat said, the issue was resolved in a panchyat (village meeting) three days ago but the accused did not return home.
Bhagat said the culprits have been identified but refused to disclose the names as it might hamper the investigation.
