Andhra Pradesh Minister for Stamps and Registrations Thota Narasimham today said that as many as 24,000 unemployed youth would be provided jobs in East Godavari district in the current year under Rajiv Yuva Kiranalu programme.
Participating as the chief guest at the Rajiv Yuva Kiranalu Job Mela at TTDC premises at Samalkot near here, he said 18,000 people were provided jobs under the programme as against 30,000 people trained in various trades during last year.
A total of 21 companies participated in the Job Mela for selection of candidates for employment and those not having any skills would be imparted training in the field of their choice for three months so that they could be absorbed later.
He said so far in the state as many as 1.20 lakh unemployed were provided jobs and the aim was to provide jobs to 16 lakh people by the year 2014. Those provided jobs in other states under the scheme , in case of any problem could approach the call center opened at Hyderabad, the Minister said. UNI
