Hyderabad: A youth took a selfie while casting vote at a polling station at Rajendra Nagar assembly constituency in Telangana. He was taken into custody.
The youth has been identified as Shiv Shankar. A case was registered against him after a complaint was lodged by an election official.
It must be noted that the use of mobile phone within the polling station is prohibited. Earlier Chief Electoral Commission had warned that strict action will be taken against those who take a selfie while voting as it is a confidential matter.
