Youth stabbed to death over minor issue, six held

New Delhi: A young man was stabbed to death by six others after his elbow accidentally hit one of them in a club in west Delhi, police said on Monday. The six accused have been arrested.

Imran, Saleem, Samar, Umar, Aleem, and Abid were arrested on Monday evening from their hideout in Khayala area. They were identified from closed-circuit television footage obtained from the club running at a mall.

Police said Sajjan Singh of south Delhi’s Moti Bagh area had gone for partying with nine friends at West Gate Mall in Rajouri Garden area around 6 p.m. on Sunday when he hit Imran with his elbow while dancing at the club.

A brawl ensued and Imran called his younger brother Saleem, who arrived at the club with four other men who thrashed Sajjan Singh for almost 20 minutes, Deputy Commissioner of Police Vijay Kumar told IANS.

“Saleem stabbed Sajjan multiple times with a knife until he collapsed in a pool of blood,” the officer said.
