A 27-year-old youth was given death penalty today by a SriGanganagar court for raping and murdering a minor girl in 2010.
The Special Court Magistrate (Domestic Violence and Women Atrocities) Dharmdutt Sharma sentenced Sonu alias Sohan Lal to death.
Sonu had raped and murdered the 15-year-old girl on May 17, 2010 under Sadulshahar police station area, prosecution said.
Police had filed a chargesheet against him in July 2010.
