New Delhi, November 16: A 25-year-old man was lynched by some youths when he went to a west Delhi locality to enquire about his friend’s stolen rickshaw, police said today.
The incident was reported from Tilak Nagar last night and the victim has been identified as Girish Kumar, a senior police official said.
Kumar, a hawker, and Dilip Sachdeva, whose rickshaw was stolen a few days back, had last evening gone to Subhash Nagar locality in Tilak Nagar and asked some youths if they knew anything about it.
An argument ensued and the youths allegedly beat up the duo with iron rods. A passerby informed police, which rushed them to Deen Dayal Upadhayay Hospital.
Kumar was declared brought dead there, the official said.
Dilip is recuperating at the hospital and is stated to be in a stable condition.
