Muzaffarnagar: Apparently frustrated by their families opposition to inter-caste relationship, a youth today shot the girl he loved and then turned the gun on himself in Shamli district here, police said.
Payal Sharma (20) was shot dead by Bharat (21) today at her residence after which he shot himself using the same weapon.
The couple, who eloped from their house 15 days back, had returned to the town yesterday, they said, adding their families were pressurising them to call off the affair due to their caste difference.
