New Delhi, August 19: An aspiring chartered accountant was killed on his 19th birthday in the national capital when a blueline bus hit his motorcycle, police said today. The incident took place in Adarsh Nagar of north-west Delhi at around 9:30 pm when Rahul, a resident of Jehangirpuri, was returning home with his friend Saurav when his bike was hit by the bus plying between Anand Vihar and Jehangirpuri.
“They were hit from side and Rahul got crushed. He was taken to a hospital but was declared brought dead,” a senior police official said.
Rahul was pursuing a CA course from a private institute in Pitampura area. His father Khairati Lal Luthra runs a grocery shop in the area.
“We had done all preparations to celebrate his birthday but on very time we were informed that he got injured in an accident,” Luthra said. Police arrested the driver and impounded the bus.
In another accident, a 19-year-old motorcyclist was crushed to death by a chartered bus in Hari Nagar of west Delhi this afternoon. The victim was identified as Jaspreet, a resident of Rajouri Garden.
He was on his way home when the speeding chartered bus hit his bike from behind.
