New Delhi: A youth was injured after he allegedly jumped from a second floor window of Ambedkar Nagar police station here while being questioned in connection with a mobile theft case, police said today.

The 26-year old youth, identified as Pankaj Goel allegedly jumping from the window and first hit a tree and then got stuck in wires, which reduced the impact of his fall.

He was admitted in AIIMS Trauma Centre with severe injuries on his back and spine, said a police officer.

The incident took place around 9.30 PM last night and it is suspected that Goel tried to commit suicide fearing arrest in connection with the case, police said.
