Youth held for withdrawing Army man’s money from bank

Rachakonda Cyber Cell sleuths arrested one Gudipalli Vishnu Prasad, 24, of Beerappagadda, Uppal, for fraudulently using bank account details of one Bylla Kishore Kumar, a soldier in the Indian Army for online transactions and swallowed Rs 3.6 lakh from December 2015 to February 2017.

 

When the victim’s wife withdrew money through an ATM in Hyderabad, she was shocked to find a little balance amountin her husband’s Punjab National Bank account. She spoke to her husband and came to know that he had shared his bank account details with the accused for help in getting the account transferred to Hyderabad.

 

Following a complaint, the police registered a case under Sections 406, 417, 419, 420, 468, 471 IPC and 66C & 66D Information Technology Act and investigation revealed that the accused took advantage of the minimal banking knowledge of Kishore, obtained ‘Net banking kit’ on his behalf, got the mobile number provided for receiving SMS alerts changed and misused Kishore’s account for transferring funds to his friends’ accounts for more than year, in small sums of several thousands to avoid detection.
