A 23-year-old man has been arrested for murdering his mother’s paramour, police said Sunday.
Ankit Sharma was arrested Friday from west Delhi’s Paschim Vihar on a tip-off for killing Ashish Dixit on the night of May 8.
According to police, the victim, a ready-made garments dealer, was a resident of Uttam Nagar where he developed intimate relations with Ankit’s mother Rajni.
Sharma miffed was angry at Dixit not only by because of the affair but also by the fact that his mother was apparently neglecting his father, who was unwell, the police said.
On May 8, Sharma saw Dixit leaving his house at 10 p.m. Infuriated, he took Dixit to the terrace of a nearby under-construction house and beat him to death with a stick, said the police.
Sharma, a Class XII passout, had been left jobless after the mobile shop he used to work at closed down some weeks ago.
