Youth held for impersonating as police officer

A youth of Maharashtra’s Gondia was today arrested by the crime branch while accepting Rs 10,000 from a quack after impersonating as police officer here. Superintendent of Police A Atulkar said that Rahul Garg came to the clinic of Sudhir Bisen on September 11 and demanded the money to verify his degree after claiming himself a police officer of the crime branch. He took Rs 1,000 in advance from the doctor next day. He said the doctor lodged a complaint about the incident and after conducting an inquiry, police found that the district chief medical officer did not send anyone for verification of the doctor’s degree. Police laid a trap and the doctor called the youth near a bank’s branch here to accept the rest of the amount. When the youth was accepting the money, police arrested him red-handed. UNI
