A local court today sentenced a youth to life imprisonment in a case of rape and murder of a minor girl in the district. Mandleshwar Special Session Judge D K Jatav held Rajendra Bonder guilty of raping and later on setting a girl on fire on January 20 this year and pronounced the verdict on him, prosecution sources said. The girl, a resident of Salyakhedi village in the district, was raped by Bonder while she was returning from a marriage party, they said. Later, the victim, a class X girl, was set ablaze by the accused by pouring kerosene on her. The judgement was delivered in the case in less than a year from the date the crime was committed. PTI
