Rajhasthan, August 17: A young man died after the battery of his mobile phone exploded.
Gopal Gujar (20), a resident of Banda Dharampura village near Kota in Rajasthan went to the forest with his cattle. On not returning from the forest, his family started looking for him. Later, his body was recovered from the woods, police said.
According to the relatives, he was in touch with his family members but later lost the touch.
Damaged mobile phone was recovered adjacent to Gopal’s dead body. Area around Gopal’s ear was badly wounded.
Police and forensic experts are investigating.
Earlier, on January 23, a 27-year-old housewife Lavanya was killed when her mobile phone exploded. She was busy on a telephonic conversation with her husband when the incident took place.
Lavanya was a resident of YSR Colony in Andhra Pradesh’s Kadapa district. She was talking on her Chinese-made phone while charging it.
The woman sustained burns after the explosion and was rushed to the nearby hospital, where the doctors pronounced her dead.
Before that on January 17, a 32 year old farmer was killed when battery of his mobile phone exploded.
He died on the way to the hospital.
This is said to be the first incident of death due to mobile set explosion in India, though several cases of injuries have been reported in the past.
