Bhubaneswar, May 01: A 23-year-old man died in Orissa after accidentally swallowing a fish, police said Saturday.
Udhaba Munda, a resident of Tangarani village in Keonjhar district, some 250 km from here, went to the pond Friday to catch fish.
‘He caught a fish and held it in his mouth, and went to catch another fish. However, the fish in an attempt to escape slipped into Munda’s throat and got trapped inside,’ a police officer told.
Villagers who were taking a bath in the same pond immediately took Munda to a local hospital. ‘But Munda died on his way to the hospital,’ the police officer said.
