Hyderabad, April 13: Three youths died in different incidents while participating in the Sri Rama Navami celebrations today. While one person died when he fell off from the Dhwajasthambham that he was cleaning in Kadapa district, two others met with a watery grave in separate incidents at Prakasam and Khammam districts.
A 24-year old youth, Bhaskar Reddy climbed atop the Dhwajasthambham at Sri Rama temple in Vallelavaripalle village in Kadapa district for cleaning the pillar on the occasion of Sri Rama Navami festival.
While cleaning the pillar, Bhaskar Reddy caught hold of the brass top of the Dhwajasthambham for support.
Unfortunately, the brass top came off and the youth fell down leading to his instant death.
Following the demise of Bhaskar Reddy on the temple premises, all the rituals in the temple were stopped for the day and Sri Rama Navami was not
celebrated.
In another incident A Venu (16) of Pallepalem village in Prakasam district met with a watery grave when he went to sea to take bath along with his friends on the occasion of Sri Rama Navami.
Venu who recently wrote his SSC exams went to the sea to enjoy a bath along with his friends but got carried away into the sea by strong tides. Efforts by his friends and some fishermen turned futile and the body is yet to be traced.
In a similar incident at Bhadrachalam in Khammam district, an unidentified youth got drowned in Godavari river when he went to take bath today. The police are yet to retrieve the body.
