Arwal, April 18:Apparently depressed with their team’s loss in a local cricket match, a youth today died after consuming a poisonous subtance, while his friend was taken illin Telpa village in Bihar’s Arwal district, police said.
The deceased, identified as Shyam Sunder (16) consumed some poisonous substance at his house in a state of depression following his team’s loss in a local cricket match and died within hours, Telpa police station in-charge Shyam SunderPrasad said.
The body has been sent for post-mortem, he said.
Sunder’s teammate Rakesh Kumar (17) also consumedpoisonous substance in a suicide bid due to similar reasonsand was taken ill, he said adding he was taken to a hospital for treatment where the attending doctors referred him to the PMCH at Patna, Mishra said.
