Perturbed over the alleged apathy of police towards illegal betting practice in his area, a 21-year-old man attempted suicide in front of the house where Deputy Speaker of Rajasthan Assembly was staying in Tonk district.
Naresh poured kerosene on himself in Circuit House where the Deputy Speaker Ramnarayan Choudhary was halting last
evening and threatened to commit suicide, police said.
However, he was overpowered by the security-men of Meena and was later handed over to local police.
Naresh was disturbed over losses in gambling and wanted the police to stop the illegal pracatice in the area.
He gave complaints to police and demanded arrest of those involved in the trade, but no action was taken, he claimed.
The man was disturbed and said that he made several complains to the police to arrest those involved in the racket
but the police did not take any action.
I have directed the police to take action against the gambling in the area,”
Ramnarayan Meena, Deputy Speaker of the legislative assembly said today.
Naresh was booked under section 309 of IPC for attempting suicide and placed under arrest, police said.
