Youth arrested on suspicion of IS links, worked at BJP run hospital inaugurated by Modi: Ahmed Patel

New Delhi: Two Muslim youth Ubaid Mirza (29) and Qasim Steamerwala (31) were arrested last week on suspicion of having links with the Islamic State. Rajya Sabha MP Ahmed Patel on Wednesday claimed that the said Gujarat youth had worked at a hospital instituted by BJP leaders and inaugurated by the Prime Minister. Ahmed Patel told this while addressing a rally in poll-bound Gujarat.

Last week Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani had accused Ahmed Patel of “managing” the hospital which employed the youth. However Ahmed Patel said after conducting a research he found that the suspect worked in Care Hospital inaugurated by the Prime Minister.

Patel said while addressing a rally in Jambusar, “BJP is talking about terrorism; Congress leaders have suffered because of terrorism.”
