Youth arrested for stabbing man

New Delhi: A 20-year-old youth has been arrested for allegedly stabbing a man to death during a religious function here in east Delhi’s Trilok Puri area, police today said.

The victim, Sunny, a resident of Trilok Puri here, was attending a ‘jagran’ (religious congregation) in his locality on the intervening night of December 30-31 when the accused stabbed and severely injured him, DCP (East) Bhairon Singh Gurjar said.

Police said the accused – Akash alias Zind – attacked the victim with a knife due to previous enmity between them.

Both stayed in the same locality and were dancing in the jagran when the incident took place, it said, adding that the victim was rushed to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to injuries.

On receiving information, the police officials of Kalyan Puri police station reached the spot and the hospital and a case was registered after Sunny died.
