Mumbai, March 20: City police today arrested a 20-year-old youth from Girgaum Chowpatty in south Mumbai for allegedly trying to molest a minor girl.
According to police, the accused Sanjay Bandor allegedly tried to molest the eight-year-old victim, who was celebrating Holi with her mother and sister.
While the girl was playing in water with her mother, Bandor grabbed her from back. However, after the girl raised an alarm, her mother too shouted for help.
Some policemen, who were present in the vicinity heard their cries and rushed for help and nabbed Bandor, they said.
The victim’s mother was initially hesitant to lodge a complaint earlier, but later a case was registered against Bandor, police said.
