New Delhi, May 25: A 31-year-old man was arrested for allegedly murdering his 55-year-old uncle to avenge the “evil eye” he had on his mother and to repay loans, police said today.
Deepak Bobal, a jeweller residing in Paschim Vihar, was apprehended from Prashant Vihar market yesterday for the murder of Surender Singh, who runs a jewellery shop on the ground floor of his Moti Nagar residence, on March 27.
Bobal allegedly took gold and cash worth lakhs from the house of his uncle after murdering him. Using this money, Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Sharad Aggarwal said, he repaid his debt and purchased an used car for Rs two lakh.
“He sold the gold jewellery and left Delhi with the intention to settle out of Delhi so that he could not be arrested.
