Deputy Commissioner of Police South Zone Mr. V Satya Narayana told that 26-year-old Areeb Mehdi, R/O Akber Bagh, Malakpet reached near the enclosure of jaguar in Zoo Park on June 6, and teased the animal. He videographed and photographed and later shared the pictures on social networking website facebook.
Mr. Satyanarayana further told that Areeb was very much interested in Discovery Channel and wished to look the animals closely and touch them. On June 6, the youth by greasing the palm of a zoo worker, entered into prohibited area and teased the animal. Bahadurpura Police obtained the details from facebook account of youth and booked a case against Areeb under illegal entry and Wildlife Protection Act and arrested him.
