Younus Yafai’s bail plea: judgment likely today

Hyderabad: During the hearing of the bail plea of Mohammed bin Younus Yafai accused in Chandrayangutta attack case, Special Public Prosecutor Uma Maheshwar opined before the VII Additional Metropolitan Session Judge Nampally Court that he had no objection on providing treatment facility to Younus Yafai but it should be provided under the supervision of jail security and only family members should be permitted to visit him. After the argument of Special Public Prosecutor, the Honourable judge told that he would pronounce the judgment on Tuesday.

It must be noted that Younus Yafai who is already heart patient, recently had paralysis attack. He is unable to take food by himself and use the washroom. On the ground of his critical health condition, Defence Counsel G Guru Murthy had submitted a bail plea on behalf of Younus Yafai and appealed to permit treatment at Life Line Hospital. Defence Counsel also told the Court that no case was pending against Younus Yafai in Supreme Court.

Earlier during the hearing of Chandrayangutta attack case, Special Public Prosecutor Uma Maheshwar Rao recorded the statement of witness Madan Mohan ex-DRO. Later Defence Counsel grilled him.

On the directions of Supreme Court to complete the trial within six months, the Seventh Additional Metropolitan Sessions Court began hearing the case which will proceed on a day-to-day basis.
