‘Younis’ misbehaviour with his men led to Pak’s downfall in Lanka’

Lahore, August 05: Former pacer Sarfraz Nawaz blamed Younis Khan for Pakistan’s humiliation in Sri Lanka, and said the captain’s misbehaviour with his teammates was the reason behind the disunity within the side leading to their downfall.

Pakistan lost the three-match Test series 0-2, their first-ever defeat on the emarald island and is trailing 0-3 in the ongoing five-match ODI series.

Sarfraz was unhappy to know Younis’ behaviour with his men and believes the team also lacks co-operation, which is one of the reasons for the poor performance of the entire side in the ongoing series in Sri Lanka. ”I have been told by many people who are with the team in Sri Lanka that the captain, Younis Khan, misbehaves with the teammates,” Sarfraz. ”The behavior of the captain with the players has lead to the disunity within the team. All players have been performing below-par in the matches including the skipper.

”There was no co-operation in the team which is necessary for a good performance,” he was quoted as saying by ‘The News’.

The former right-arm fast bowler was also not in favour of the skipper’s policy of changing batting order, which he felt, didn’t help the team. He believes that a captain should deal with his players with care to bring the best out of them.

The 60-year-old, who has taken 177 wickets in 55 Tests and claimed 63 wickets from his 45 ODIs, further went on to point out that Pakistan star all-rounder Shahid Afridi, who sparkled in the UAE against Australia and in the World T20 Championship, was also not bowling up to the mark.
