You will soon be able to do ‘online transactions’ through WhatsApp

New Delhi: Due to demonetization in the country mobile wallet apps like Paytm and MobiKwik played an eminent role and had a big success claims astronomical growth. But still there are many more challenges to come in the competition.

According to Yahoo. News, India’s famous and handy immediate messaging app is launching the person-to-person payment system in the country, according to a report on The Ken.

The company is seeking the support from the government for UPI, which is a new payment system by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI). UPI helps people to make the payments as quick as sending a text message.

“India is an important country for WhatsApp, and we’re understanding how we can contribute more to the vision of Digital India,” WhatsApp spokesperson said to Mashable.

“We’re exploring how we might work with companies that share this vision and continuing to listen closely to feedback from our users.”

Founder of WhatsApp, Brian Acton, visited India and met Indian officials of government to know more about the ideas and to contribute in “India’s vision for digital commerce.” There are more than 200 million WhatsApp users in India claims Acton.

According to industry sources, NPCI is functioning forcefully to find out their own payment solutions to squeeze the mobile wallet systems like Paytm.

In December last year, Prime Minister, Narendra Modi launched BHIM app, he said that this App is heading to change the payment modes.
