Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh)[India]: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday said that Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government will fulfill all the promises made by the party in its vision document, adding that they will work for development of all sections and castes and create a new structure of progress in the state.
Speaking to ANI here, UP BJP general secretary Vijay Bahadur Pathak said, “The Uttar Pradesh people will get rid of corruption, nepotism allegedly prevailing in the state during the regime of Samajwadi Party. We will work for the party’s ‘inclusive growth’ agenda.”
On the other hand, Samajwadi Party spokesperson Juhi Singh said that we hope BJP will fulfill all its promises mentioned in its manifesto as the time to show off has passed.”
“The key issues in the BJP’s poll manifesto, especially farm loan should be completely waived off as promised. They should not add some terms and conditions to it,” she added.
Singh further attacked the BJP over changing names of various schemes initiated by the Akhilesh Yadav government, stating that name-change is fine, but the schemes should not be discontinued.
Over a fortnight after taking oath, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Adityanath will hold his first Cabinet meeting on April 4, 2017.
It is expected that the issue of the farmers’ loan waiver will be discussed in the meeting, as promised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in the run up to the Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls.
The BJP bagged 312 seats, and its allies 13, taking the alliance’s tally to 325 in the 403-member Assembly, thereby giving a major setback to the Samajwadi Party which joined hands with the Congress this time.
