California, October 05: Fire fighters in California are struggling with yet another wind-driven wildfire that is raging in San Bernardino Mountains, forcing mass evacuations.
The fire that broke out on Saturday near Lytle Creek, a small community surrounded by the San Bernardino National Forest, has so far burnt 14,164,000 square meters (3,500 acres) of land.
The firefighters were only able to contain 10 of the flames by Sunday, as over 4,000 residents were ordered to evacuate the area. No injuries have been reported.
The blaze is posing a threat to at least 200 houses, while firefighters are making efforts to protect homes and structures in Wrightwood, about 120 km (75 miles) east of Los Angeles.
Erratic winds and low visibility have grounded firefighting aircraft, San Bernardino National Forest public information officer Robin Prince said, the Associated Press reported.
