Yet another Gali;s bail petition rejected

Hyderabad, December 30: The CBI Special Judge’s Court in Nampally on Friday rejected the “Two-day Escort Bail Petition” filed by Gali Janardhana Reddy, principal accused in the Obulapuram Mines Company irregularities case.

It may be mentioned here that former minister of Karnataka had filed a petition in the trial court to grant two-day bail with escort for attending to his mother’s death anniversary in Bellary in Karnataka.

During the arguments on the two-day bail petition on Friday, the CBI prosecutor severely opposed the bail petition stating that Gali Janardhana Reddy would definitely influence the prosecution witnesses and make them hostile if he was granted bail. The CBI prosecutor pointed out that Gali Janardhana Reddy has arranged a large number of huge cut-outs and hundreds of vehicles in Bellary.

Hearing both sides, the trial court rejected the bail petition of the principal accused in the OMC fraud case.

It may be mentioned here that Gali’s close follower and former minister Sriramulu had successfully contested in the election to Bellary Rural Assembly constituency as an Independent candidate. Sriramulu had also declared that they would take a decision on forming a new political party after the release of Gali Janardhana Reddy on bail. In this context, political pundits feel that Gali Janardhana Reddy had filed a fresh bail petition in the court on pretext of attending to his mother death anniversary. (NSS)
