Sanaa, April 18: Yemeni regime forces have opened fire on anti-government protesters, killing at least one person and injuring hundreds of others.
On Sunday, anti-regime protesters took to the streets of the capital, Sana’a, as well as the cities of Taizz and Dhamar, all located in the west, to call on President Ali Abdullah Saleh to step down.
Regime forces used violence and opened fire on protesters to disperse the crowd. At least one person has been confirmed dead.
The death toll in the country has surpassed 300 since anti-government protests began in late January.
