YSR Congress party today opposed the Andhra Pradesh Government’s announcement on RTC charges hike in the wake of fitment announcement made.
Addressing a press conference at Lotus Pond office here, the party spokesperson Vasireddy Padma expressed apprehensions that the people may revolt if the charges are hiked. Had the government responded early, the RTC workers would not have gone on strike, she said. Padma also opposed that price hike will burden the common man. In the name of fitment hike to 43 per cent the AP Government should not burden the people, she said. Extending congratulations to the RTC workers on getting fitment, she said that the YCP stood by them during the course of the strike. ‘We will fight for their cause’ she said adding that the Telugu states should drop the idea of increasing the charges.(NSS)
