Abu Dhabi [UAE]: Leg-spinner Yasir Shah scalped six wickets as Pakistan registered a crushing 133-run win over West Indies in the second Test to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series here at Sheikh Zayed Stadium on Tuesday.
Chasing a daunting target of 456 runs, West Indies were bundled out for 322 despite some brilliant efforts by opener Kraigg Brathwaite (67) and middle-order batsman Jermaine Blackwood (95). The visitors resumed the fifth and final day’s play on 171-4.
Shai Hope was another notable contributor for the Caribbean side as he scored a fighting 41 before being dismissed by left-arm spinner Zulfiqar Babar.
Yasir, who was declared `Man of the Match`, led from the font as he picked six wickets for 124 in the second innings to finish with 10-wicket overall, his second ten-wicket haul in Test cricket.
Babar claimed two wickets while Rahat Ali and Mohammad Nawaz also chipped in with a wicket each.
Earlier, Misbah-ul-Haq’s side declared their second innings at 227-2, with Sami Aslam(50) and Azhar Ali (79) sharing a huge 93-run stand for opening wicket. Asad Shafiq also scored an unbeaten 58-run knock.
Pakistan won the opening Test by 56 runs in Dubai, thus leaving the inconsequential third and final Test in Sharjah starting from Sunday. (ANI)
