Nizamabad MP Madhu Yashki Goud on Monday stated that it was not good for the Congress High Command to drag the issue of Telangana statehood demand in the name of consultation process.
Talking to media persons at Lakeview Guest House after a delegation of Telangana MPs meeting Congress In-charge of state affairs Ghulam Nabi Azad, Madhu Yashki said that the survival of party in Telangana region was very difficult if the Centre delays the issue further. Stating that the party’s image was badly affected in the region due to long-pending Telangana demand, he blamed the Seemandhra leaders for obstructing the bifurcation issue. He alleged that a section of Seemandhra leaders were obstructing the statehood process to protect their business interests.
Madhu Yaskhi called upon the Telangana activists to participate in large numbers in the Telangana March scheduled on September 30.
Responding to Telugu Desam Party giving another letter favouring Telangana statehood to the Centre, he said that then the people would definitely mount pressure on the Congress to make its stand clear. He reiterated that the Telangana agitation would not be diluted with special financial packages and by offering the Chief Minister’s post to the region.
