TDP senior leader and MLC Yanamala Ramakrishnudu has chided the Congress leaders for unnecessarily criticizing his party chief N Chandrababu Naidu, who was extending help to the flood victims in Uttarakhand by visiting Dehradun and Rishikesh.
In a pressnote, Yanamala has alleged that both the State and Union governments have utterly failed in lending a helping hand to the victims. Stating that the Congress party remained as a mute spectator, he lashed out at Congress leaders for criticizing Chandrababu, who personally participated in the relief works.
The TDP leader said the Uttarakhand flood havoc clearly exposed the inefficiency and negligent attitude of the Congress party. He alleged that while some 1,500 Telugu pilgrims had come to the AP Bhavan, but the government has given travel expenditures only to 100 members and asked others to purchase tickets themselves. He pointed out that TDP has already distributed Rs 10,000 each totalling Rs 12 lakh. But the AP Bhavan has given only Rs 2000 each to 165 persons amounting to Rs.3,60,000. He demanded that the government suspend the Resident Commissioner of AP Bhavan Shashank Goel, who had failed to provide quality food and medical facilities to the victims immediately.
Yanamala questioned AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi as to where he was as the floods created havoc in Utterakhand. He asked Rahul Gandhi, who was focusing himself as Prime Ministerial candidate in 2014 elections, whether he did not know about the national disaster. He also asked Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and AICC Chief Sonia Gandhi whether they would confine to issuing eye-wash statements and assurances. He also questioned Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, who visited Delhi 80 times to protect his seat, as to why he did not visit Delhi for the sake of pilgrims.
Yanamala said he was donating Rs 50,000 to the NTR Trust, which is extending extraordinary service towards Telugu pilgrims. He alleged that the Congress party, which was being run under the leadership of an Italian woman, has turned into a ‘Multi National Private Company Limited. Finding fault with Kiran Kumar Reddy for labelling the TDP as a Private Limited Company, he alleged that Sonia Gandhi was from Italy and foreign blood was flowing in Rahul Gandhi’s body. He said the TDP was a party lunched by late NTR only to protect self-respect of Telugu people. Yanamala has reminded Kiran Kumar Reddy to remember that the Congress party was playing family-oriented politics with leaders like Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira, Rajiv, Sonia and Rahul and it was not correct on the Congress party leaders to criticize the TDP.
