BSP party leader Yakub Qureshi hit at AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, by calling him to be a “pitthu” (henchman) of the BJP for supporting the BJP-Sena coalition in the Maharasthra assembly alliance.
Qureshi was addressing Bahujan Samaj Party workers at a one-day a state-wide dharna against the Centre’s land acquisition bill in Meerut, where he leaves the farmers’ issues to other leaders and said:
“It is the Muslims who built India and not BJP-RSS. If you (BJP) want to bring the Ram Rajya to the country then govern it like Ram used to govern. Owaisi is nothing but a pitthu of the BJP. He worked as an agent for them in Maharashtra and supprted the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance there. Here, in UP, he has no presence and no Muslim supports him.”
He also put on alert the BJP that if they grab hold of the voting rights of Muslims, as their alliance partner Shiv Sena suggested, they would end up losing power.
Qureshi also criticize SP government for “cheating Muslims”.
He said, “Samajvadi Party fooled Muslims by making false promises such as 14% reservation in government jobs. Only the Yadavs got benefits while Muslims were dumped. There was 90% Yadav-recruitment in the police.”
The central government must govern like Ram if they want to bring “Ram-Rajya” (the rule of Ram), he also told.
