Yajurveda Mandir to be inspected after July 15

Anantpur, July 4: District joint collector Anita Ramachandran said after July 15, inspections will be continued in Yajurveda Mandir, adjacent guest houses and other buildings in Prashanti Nilayam.
On Saturday, when the joint collector inspected Yajurveda Mandir, Rs 76 lakh worth gold and silver articles were found stashed away in a small room attached to Baba’s personal room in the Mandir.
Speculations are rife that there could be more treasure, which the Satya Sai Central Trust members have either not disclosed in the inventory or have missed out. Rumours are that large amount of gold and silver has been kept in the guest houses adjacent to Baba’s Yajurveda Mandir, meant for the VIPs and VVIPs during their visit and for personal interaction with Baba. They used to be allotted and opened on the directions of Satya Sai and no one else. The keys of those guest houses are reported to be with Baba’s personal caretaker Satyajit. It is being said there could more treasure there than what was found in Yajurveda Mandir.
The decision to continue the inspection in Prashanti Nilayam is seen as an effort to put an end to such speculations among the people.
Meanwhile, in a press release, Sri Satya Sai Central Trust, said the government inspection in Yajurveda Mandir on Saturday was only due to their request and nothing was ‘seized’. The Trust dismissed speculations of large treasure, presence of tunnels and secret passages.
The release said, “The Trust had not made any statement that the inventory was complete. On June 16 and 17, when the inventory was made, only private chambers of Satya Sai was included in it and the rooms adjoining Baba’s private chamber in the first floor and the ground floor were not listed. To make an inventory of items in those rooms, the presence of government representatives was requested, the trust said.
The Yajurveda Mandir was doublelocked with keys kept in the safe custody of two trust members. The trust is doing everything to be completely transparent in all its activities, the release added.
