Tirumala, September 13: Shakespeare may have said, “Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.” But the good old Shakespeare may have changed had he watched DGP SSP Yadav spitting venom at a section of Hyderabadbased media persons in Tirumala today. “Purugulu padi Potharu (would be rotten to death) is the blessing the DGP has for media persons in Hyderabad.
SSP Yadav took an opportunity to launch a tirade and hurl choicest epithets at media persons today when he was asked some questions on his visit by chopper to Idupulapaya estate to attend Rajasekhara Reddy’s last rites, while Home Minister Sabita Indra Reddy and other VIP were forced to travel by bus and in the bargain missed the ceremony.
A visibly upset Yadav asked media persons in Tirumala not to emulate their counterparts in Hyderabad.
Yadav’s fury against a section of media in Hyderabad did not stop at it, he cursed those media persons writing stories on him would be rotten to death (Purugulupadi potharu). “They know nothing and write what they feel like. You (media persons in Tirumala) are young and have bright future. Don’t follow them (Hyderabad media),’’ the DGP suggested. Yadav wanted to know when the Government did not ask any explanation on his helicopter visit to Idupulapaya, why is media poking its nose in the matter.
Referring to WTC bombing in USA in which over 3000 died, the DGP said the media there did not go overboard. “Here, media is making unnecessary allegations and creating nuisance. They don’t know what to write, what not to and when to write,’’ he remarked.
